MG
Three interesting and well maintained MGs take centre stage of the Savage Collection. MGs are often the centrepiece of some of the most important collections around the world for their performance, reliability, sporting looks and iconic status in motor sport.
Roy Savage’s earliest imagery of men and their sports cars lies during the war years when he saw photographs of the RAF pilots driving around the airfields in their MGs during their down time for relaxation and fun. These poignant boys own fantasies led Roy in to a lifetime of pleasure collecting cars, the first being the A Model Ford followed by his first MG TF. He sold that particular car but went on to acquire the red MG TD2 1250cc in 1977, which underwent a back to bare metal restoration taking many years. In 1979, the green 1954 MG TC 1250cc was sought after but he then secured his favourite of all being the red 1955 MG TF 1500.
